Why Should We Care?

Turtles are decomposers of dead and decaying organisms. They help prevent the growth of bacteria that could be potentially harmful to us. If we didn’t have turtles, there would be too many dead and decaying organisms, which would be disruptive to the ecosystem. Turtles are also instrumental in nutrient cycling. Their extinction would alter the balance of nature. We need to be careful when interacting with turtle’s ecosystems and think twice before making changes to their habitats.
